About this blog

Winston Churchill famously said that one of the most unfailing tests of civilization lies in criminal justice: how laws are formed, crimes punished, justice served and offenders treated. The questions are endless and the answers rarely simple, but crime, and the pursuit of justice, are realities of our lives.

So this commonplace blog agrees with old Winston. It looks at different aspects of Crime and Justice in a changing world, with a focus on the media (I’m a journalist) and the Arts (I like).

In whatever interglobal, post-modern, past-caring state we’re in, I’m interested in changes and developments in each, especially when they inform each other. So expect crime in films, arts in prisons and justice in the media. Basically, a small place to discuss big things.
